Artist Bio

I am a self-taught, freelance artist living in Melbourne. My work has strong reflections of culture and traditions from India, a place where I was born and brought up. I am trained as a therapist and I have worked with people with developmental disabilities for over fifteen years in India. Art and expression had always been an integral part of my work and this has enriched me both as an individual and as an artist. My work is inspired by individuality of all things past and present. I have a keen interest in traditional Indian art forms namely Madhubani, Warli and Gond. I find myself continually drawn to the intricacies of these age-old folk art styles and enjoy retelling the stories through my contemporary renditions.
I strongly believe art is a continuous journey and I get to learn something new every day.

My works have been exhibited in 3 Solo Exhibitions in Melbourne. I have been part of Creative Spaces Art Exhibitions along with numerous other group exhibitions in Melbourne for last 5 years.
