Artwork Description

This hand-embroidered eucalyptus branch is inspired by Australian native flora, created on natural linen with fine layered stitching to build texture and depth. A minimalist textile artwork that brings calm, warmth, and a natural touch.

Artist Bio

I am a Brazilian textile artist and teacher based on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, with roots in the coastal village of Búzios, Rio de Janeiro. I learned to embroider at the age of eight with local fisherwomen, carrying forward traditional stitches and storytelling techniques through every piece I create.

My practice is deeply connected to cultural heritage, where embroidery becomes a way of preserving memory, symbolism, and identity. Each work is entirely handmade on natural cotton or linen, reflecting a rich dialogue between tradition and contemporary life.

Having lived and created across South America, Europe, and now Australia, my work brings together influences from Amazonian mythology, native flora and fauna, and the Australian landscape. Through this fusion, I explore the emotional connection between people, place, and nature.

Each embroidery is a slow, intentional process — a one-of-a-kind piece that invites quiet contemplation, warmth, and a sense of story into the space it inhabits.
