Artwork Description

I love the warm calming colours of the golden sunset interacting with the water and foliage with two silhouetted waterbirds wending their way home at the end of the day. This painting adds a homely familiarity to a room. Inspired by the photography of the late Frank McDonald of Townsville.

I started oil painting when I retired as an infectious disease pathology scientist in December 2019. I especially like to paint landscapes and still life's. I am largely self taught. I find myself painting, making panels and frames most days of the week. I love what I do; it is challenging but rewarding . I have been a finalist in The Doyles Art Awards in 2022, 2024 and 2025.
