Artwork Description

This art work was inspired by an original photograph from the collection of my late cousin, Frank McDonald RIP. It has a simple, harmonious yet striking colour pallette instilling the serenity and natural beauty of a reflected sunset on water being observed by silhouetted pelicans on a derelict jetty.

I started oil painting when I retired as an infectious disease pathology scientist in December 2019. I especially like to paint landscapes and still life's. I am largely self taught. I find myself painting, making panels and frames most days of the week. I love what I do; it is challenging but rewarding . I have been a finalist in The Doyles Art Awards in 2022, 2024 and 2025.
