Artwork Description

I often have lunch by the Brisbane River, sitting on a bench in the shade and admiring the boats coming and going on the Brisbane River. Every time I pass under this beautiful tree, there will be a group of Ibis eating the bread thrown by someone. There is plenty of bread so they don't have to fight for it, and there are plenty of Lorikeets and Noisy Miner to share the food with. They ate leisurely and slowly, making me feel that my one-hour lunchtime was pitiful. So I decided to depict this slow and peaceful moment.

Artist Bio

I am a full-time landscape architect, who enjoys to record the things around me through painting. My paintings are full of life and rich in stories. Emphasis on light and shadow, whether it is hot midsummer or evening sunset, light and shadow is a sharp tool to capture time. My pictures have a degree of relaxation, with both a loose and relaxed "stage" (background) and fine and delicate "actors" (foreground). I like to capture the breath of life, whether it is the workers in the narrow alleys taking a break and smoking a cigarette, or the people who are lazy on the beach, or the people chatting in the park, or the people exploring in the wild forest and mountain streams, I like to record these bits and pieces.
