So this is how most of my paintings start, as puddles of colour. This is the only part that is really planned (except if it is a commission piece). From this point on in it is an intuitive, kind of meditative, process. The music goes on and the door is locked and it's just me and the painting until it gets too dry to work with anymore. Sometimes it is a fast and furious process, to get it to where I think it needs to be before the fluid paint is to dry to work into it anymore. I don't often like to use water to dilute the paint as I worry it might weaken the bonds in the acrylic and cause problems for the paintings longevity. I'll be posting this new work soon, so come back and see how it ended up. Its a beauty!
