Artwork Description

Artist Bio

I am an Australian painter whose abstract landscapes aim to capture the quiet beauty and emotional richness of rural life. Based in Roma, Queensland, I draw deep inspiration from the land — where the often harsh, dry conditions make it difficult for anything to grow. Against this backdrop, the sight of rolling green hills, lush pastures, and the steady rhythm of grazing black Angus cattle is more than just beautiful; it is a symbol of prosperity, resilience, and pure happiness.

Working primarily in acrylics, I transform my connection to nature into flowing, textural compositions that reflect the energy and emotion of the landscapes I love. My creativity was nurtured from an early age, thanks to a grandmother who never failed to gift me paint supplies when I visited. While I have always drawn and created, it was in more recent years that I taught myself to paint, finding in the process a freedom to express open spaces, changing seasons, and the vibrant life around me.

Before becoming a full-time artist, I spent over a decade as a primary school teacher, later specialising in art education. Guiding children to explore their own creativity has shaped my approach to painting — encouraging a sense of joy, curiosity, and play that I carry into every piece I create.

Through my work, I hope to give collectors more than a visual connection. I want them to feel the calm of a breezy paddock, the optimism of a fertile season, and the grounding presence of the land itself. Each painting is a celebration of growth, renewal, and the enduring bond between people and place.
