Racheal Marie, a multidisciplinary artist from Perth, Western Australia, born in 1985, traces her roots back to Helensburgh, south of Sydney. Her artistic journey commenced in high school with a vocational sign writing course, followed by a graphic design and printing apprenticeship and a diploma in multimedia. After a decade-long career, she relocated to Perth in 2012 and transitioned to airbrushing, specializing in photographic reproduction painting under Tony Vowels' Airbrush Venturi system.
However, a severe health crisis in 2018 left her partially paralyzed, prompting a 6 year period of recovery, exploration and creative experimentation with disciplines from painting, glass art, metal sculpture, through to tattooing,, during which she developed a passion for black and white portraiture and storm scape photography, Her current work features predominantly in this monochromatic theme with some incorporating an invisible ultraviolet layer symbolizing the human capacity to find light in lifeโs darkest moments.
