Artwork Description

Cattleya orchid painted over pages from an entry on Orchids in the 1924 Chambers's Encyclopaedia. I like the different textures it provides and mixed techniques with watercolour over the paper surface and acrylic paint on the canvas. This painting is a celebration of the beauty of orchids.

Art School at 18 and later studied Art History at Oxford University. Lived in Florence, Italy for many years where I worked as an art critic. My second home is on the Greek island of Hydra. I moved there in 1986 and married French artist Michel Le Goff, on Hydra in 1993. I currently work from a home studio in Newcastle, NSW and visit Hydra, when possible.
