Artwork Description

Bathed in Sun and Solace is an original painting by Australian Artist Rachel Rae - 'Bathed in Sun and Solace' portrays a serene moment of introspection and leisure by the tranquil water. At the forefront, a woman sits upon weathered rocks, her posture relaxed as she gazes out over the shimmering expanse, a book resting beside her, forgotten in the moment of contemplation. The sun, a warm embrace on her back, infuses the scene with a golden glow, illuminating her surroundings with a sense of tranquility.

Amidst this idyllic setting, life abounds: a graceful figure wades through the water, her presence adding a subtle rhythm to the scene. Nearby, two children engage in playful exploration, their youthful energy harmonizing with the natural splendor. A loyal companion, a dog, bounds joyfully across the rocky shore, eagerly chasing after a ball tossed with carefree abandon.

Through masterful brushstrokes and a palette alive with hues of amber and azure, this painting captures not just a moment, but a timeless vignette of solace, connection, and the harmonious interplay between humanity and nature.

This original painting by Rachel Rae is painted in acrylic with a protective varnish on a deep stretched canvas, framed in Tasmanian Oak it is ready to hang.

Artist Bio

Rachel Rae has been creative throughout her life, but whilst living in Spain in an apartment overlooking the ocean she was inspired to dedicate her time to focus on her painting art practice. Being an avid traveller and walker, Rachel Rae witnesses many life moments which is the inspiration for her artwork, painting personal records of flora, fauna, people and landscapes.

Rachel Rae paints in acrylics, quickly highlighting the movement of the landscape in a stationary painting, fascinated by the movement of nature contrasting with the static man-made objects and how humans, animals and nature co-exist. However by spending the time to paint the smaller details and minutiae, it allows time for reflection during the process. Capturing personal records of the flora, fauna, people and landscapes in life’s moments creates a memory and connection to past and present experiences.

Rachel Rae creates personal paintings of past and present experiences creating memory and connection to the vibrant colour and uniqueness of the world around us.
