Artwork Description

Byron Bay's Guiding Light is an original painting by Australian Artist Rachel Rae

Byron Bay's Guiding Light captures the serene yet dynamic essence of resilience and hope. The painting depicts a steadfast lighthouse, a symbol of security and strength, standing resolute amidst a dramatic interplay of textured, abstract foliage. The scene is animated by a pair of joggers ascending the lighthouse steps, embodying the pursuit of personal growth and perseverance. Nearby, a contemplative figure gazes out to sea, reflecting on the vast possibilities ahead. Through its vibrant textures and bold contrasts, this artwork celebrates the lighthouse as a beacon of encouragement, guiding us to move forward with courage and confidence, unburdened by the uncertainties of life.

This original painting by Rachel Rae is painted in acrylic with a protective varnish on a deep stretched canvas, framed in Tasmanian Oak it is ready to hang.

Artist Bio

Rachel Rae has been creative throughout her life, but whilst living in Spain in an apartment overlooking the ocean she was inspired to dedicate her time to focus on her painting art practice. Being an avid traveller and walker, Rachel Rae witnesses many life moments which is the inspiration for her artwork, painting personal records of flora, fauna, people and landscapes.

Rachel Rae paints in acrylics, quickly highlighting the movement of the landscape in a stationary painting, fascinated by the movement of nature contrasting with the static man-made objects and how humans, animals and nature co-exist. However by spending the time to paint the smaller details and minutiae, it allows time for reflection during the process. Capturing personal records of the flora, fauna, people and landscapes in life’s moments creates a memory and connection to past and present experiences.

Rachel Rae creates personal paintings of past and present experiences creating memory and connection to the vibrant colour and uniqueness of the world around us.
