One day I saw this guy walking along the beach with his board after a surf. He looked so deep in thought. I wonder what he is thinking? When you are a surfer it is part of your soul. It is meditative. It is part of your being. Was he thinking about the surf he'd just had? Was he thinking about his life? What do you think? The water was a bit choppy but there were a few good sets coming in. The sun was shining. The blues and purples in the water created these stripes and the footprints in the sand create brown and ochre and rusty shadows and highlights. This painting is in acrylic on a stretch canvas. It is framed with a timber shadow box frame and is ready to hang.

Artist Bio
Rachel Rae has been creative throughout her life, but whilst living in Spain in an apartment overlooking the ocean she was inspired to dedicate her time to focus on her painting art practice. Being an avid traveller and walker, Rachel Rae witnesses many life moments which is the inspiration for her artwork, painting personal records of flora, fauna, people and landscapes.
Rachel Rae paints in acrylics, quickly highlighting the movement of the landscape in a stationary painting, fascinated by the movement of nature contrasting with the static man-made objects and how humans, animals and nature co-exist. However by spending the time to paint the smaller details and minutiae, it allows time for reflection during the process. Capturing personal records of the flora, fauna, people and landscapes in life’s moments creates a memory and connection to past and present experiences.
Rachel Rae creates personal paintings of past and present experiences creating memory and connection to the vibrant colour and uniqueness of the world around us.
