Rachel is a full-time contemporary abstract artist based in Melbourne/Naarm, and she proudly identifies as BIPOC. Her vibrant and playful art is deeply rooted in her artistic heritage, having inherited her passion from her talented Father. Rachel's work combines Mid-Century Modern influences with the whimsical charm of Bubble O Bill, resulting in a distinctive, nostalgic style. Working primarily with high-quality, heavily pigmented acrylic paints, Rachel explores a variety of textures and dynamic movements, which allows her to bring her imaginative concepts to life. She starts with a carefully selected colour palette and lets geometric shapes guide the composition, allowing them to evolve organically throughout the creative process. Rachel creates her art in a cosy home studio in Melbourne's inner west. Although compact, her studio provides an environment for her to explore and realise her artistic vision.
Rachel's exhibition history includes recent shows such as the Art Directory Australia's Autumn Exhibition in March 2023 and the Show Us Your West Side Exhibition in August 2023. At the latter, her artwork 'Apricot Chicken' sold within 30 minutes of the opening, marking her first red dot sticker—a significant milestone in her career. Rachel has also participated in ArtBid Australia's Spring Awakening Live Auction, where two of her artworks were successfully sold. Additionally, she will be featured in Unassigned Gallery's Exhibitions For Ants 2.0 in October. In her professional practice, Rachel frequently accepts commissions and remains keenly interested in future collaborations.
