In the making of this work I was experimenting with craft materials instead of paint. As I explored with sewing the wool onto the linen surface, I noticed that the thread resembled brush strokes which interested me. I began to sew tight stitches in long rows and then cut into the middle which created vibrant and dense strips of carpet. When viewed at a distance the wool on the linen reminded me of an abstract painting. I enjoy using vibrant and rich colours and viewers often comment on this and enjoy the tactile quality of my work.
