Rachel Whiteman's passion is creating. Over a short period of time she has developed a unique style and very individual techniques. Successfully capturing the essence of nature and Gaia, her paintings transport you to an ethereal place. Rachel's exposure to many cultures has influenced her artistic style, having grown up in sub-Saharan Africa, Norway and Scotland, Rachel travelled extensively in Europe, North America and Asia before emigrating to Australia. Rachel frequently draws on the extensive visual library she has built in her mind to recreate the pristine environment of Western Australia, paying particular attention to the world class coastline and unique landscapes. As a self taught artist Rachel strives to recreate light and life in her paintings. Rachel bases all her academic, professional and personal endeavours on striving for artistic excellence but she is never afraid to make mistakes.
