Artwork Description

l started painting pictures in oils , l loved to paint flowers . l became inspired by the works of John Anster Fitzgerald 's fairies so started to l include fairies in my flower paintings . l sold around 10 oil paintings between 2006 -2008 .l then had a break from painting and in the past 10 years l changed my medium to soft pastel as l found myself with less time on my hands and pastels being quicker and more convenient . The Fairy slippers are my pastel version of a similar one l painted in oils of which was sold.

Artist Bio

l originally started painting with oils in 2006 , l had never painted before , l was truly inspired by the lmpressionists and taught myself to paint in a similar style. l try to create themes of my paintings similar to John William Waterhouse and John Anster Fitzgerald . l had sold a small number of paintings in the mid 2000's from entering local school fund raising exhibitions . Since 2012 l found l had less time on my hands but still felt the need to do art so l took up soft pastels as they are more convenient when you have limited spare time. Now l have alot more spare time but enjoy working with pastels more than oils . l also have recycled and decorated old mirrors with lead and stained glass in botanical themes.
