Ilarwill ("Black Duck" in the local Yagirr language of the Yagel people) is a beautiful hidden suburb on Woodford Island - Australia's largest inland island on the Clarence River. In late spring/ early summer the trees are flowering as well as native bush and wild flowers showing their colours. It's hard not to be inspired. This painting was made after walking around for a couple of days just enjoying all the blooms.
