Rain is a multidisciplinary artist exploring land, time and symbols. Teaching Art and exhibiting for over 25 years in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Member of 69 Smith Street Gallery for 26 years. Her art incorporates her love of the natural world, research into ancient cultures, folk art traditions and sites of cultural significance. Forest and coast motifs persist as these reflect environments that nourish and inspire. Rain loves spending time in nature splitting her time between the forest and the sea.
Rain has been making and creating for over twenty years. As a creative child this led her to study Bachelor of Education Visual Arts from The University of Melbourne (Hons) she has been teaching extensively for over twenty years and maintained her art practice throughout. She has formal training in a variety of mediums from printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, painting and drawing. Rain has exhibited extensively in group shows and held solo exhibitions. She is a member of a Artist run collective and gallery for over twenty years.
Rain loves exploring a variety of mediums with a current focus on painting, ink works on paper and ceramic sculpture. She has a studio in the Dandenong Ranges in a cultural centre brimming with art. Rain has a love of symbols, landscape and colour and is continually honing her vision and technique and is never short of ideas.
