Artwork Description

However prepared I was to see Uluru during my first trip to Alice Springs, the actual experience was beyond any imagination. The huge single rock that stands for millions of years invokes a spiritual feel and makes you humble. As one walks towards the rock, it keeps growing bigger and the natural formations appear more beautiful.

Artist Bio

Ramnath Iyer emigrated to Australia in 1986 from India and had a long career in the IT field.
Ramnath is a visual artist. Sketching and painting came naturally to Ramnath from a young age; he was introduced to watercolour at the age of seven and was mentored by his school headmaster in drawing and oil painting. His portrait of Mrs Indira Gandhi (former Prime Minister of India) was appreciated and personally autographed by her.
Ramnath has been mentored in watercolour and oils by Sunil Linus De from India, Fitzroy Art studio, Mike Kowalski from Australia and Susan Harrison-Tustain from New Zealand.
In the last few years, Ramnath’s works have been featured in exhibitions held at Chitrakala Parishath in Bengaluru, the Track Gallery in Mount Waverley by MONCAS, MAVA’s exhibition at the Hut Gallery in Ferntree Gully, the Melbourne International Flower and Garden show with the Box Hill Art Group, Contemporary Art Society, ‘Town & Country’ exhibition by the Whitehorse city council and the Nepan Arts Society in Sydney.
