Artwork Description

Indigo Horizon is a visceral meditation on the 'interrupted' landscape—a place where the rugged textures of our earthly experience meet the infinite, rolling spirit of the sea. As a centrepiece of the Denim Flow Collection, this work explores the deep, spiritual parallels between the modern fabric of our lives and the ancient art of the loom.

The Palette of the Ocean Flow
This piece is defined by a sophisticated layering of Deep Indigo, Stone-Washed Blue, and Cobalt, mimicking the natural weathering of denim and the shifting moods of the Pacific. These blues bleed into cresting whites and metallic silvers, capturing the constant "Ocean Flow"—a movement that is both turbulent and grounding.

The Weave of the Journey
In this collection, I treat the canvas as a spiritual map where the threads represent our interconnectedness. The deep denim tones act as the warp, the enduring strength of those who came before us. The fluid, oceanic teals and whites are the weft, representing the divine movement and the community that weaves through our present lives.

Denim as Spiritual Resilience
The "Denim Flow" aesthetic is a tribute to endurance. Just as denim gains character through wear and time, our spirits are refined by the tides of life. The hand-carved, arched "seam" serves as a Wayfinder’s mark, representing the intentional path we carve through the beautiful unknown at the horizon’s edge.

Artist Bio

My practice is a continuous exploration of movement, grounded in the belief that art should breathe. I create with 'flow'—a deliberate, rhythmic process where the medium dictates the energy of the piece. I draw my greatest inspiration from the intricate complexity of the natural world, seeing every canvas as a reflection of divine creation.

This fluidity is anchored by my heritage; I weave the symbolic meanings of Filipino patterns into my compositions, paying homage to the cultural narratives and strength they represent. Much like the iris flower—a recurring motif in my work—I am drawn to forms that suggest graceful, effortless expansion. Whether I am working on a personal piece or a large-scale commission, my goal is to create a visual experience that feels both alive and intentional.
