Hello there, thank you for visiting my page :)
For as long as I can remember I've doodled daisies on my school books, notepads, serviettes and conference booklets, it's just something I've done to bring joy to working in the mainstream. These curious delicate daisies have helped me ‘listen’ better to the World around me when I've needed to concentrate and are a part of who I am. When I left home many years ago, my Mother missed my daisy doodles and since then, a dainty daisy has graced many pages ever since.
You could say I’ve been a closet creative who has only brought out the paint brushes whenever I needed to 'whip up' a special gift for someone's birthday. These gifted pieces would usually be flowers and sometimes sea inspired and always signed off as "Shells", aka me.
In the mid 90's I worked in my profession as the HR Manager at the Museum and Art Gallery for the NT. It was my dream job, not that I loved HR especially, but more that I saw amazing art in my lunch break and worked with curators and art enthusiast daily - so much fun! Having changed my career direction, I've only recently had the space and time to draw and paint again which has been delightful.
I’ve kept the memory of my paternal Grandmother who encouraged me and often commissioned me to paint a 'little something' for her. In addition my maternal Grandfather told me at a young age that maybe one day I would have a shop selling art. Of course at 12 this seemed like a lofty idea but given he was a man of few words, his belief in me and the possibility of the dream stuck. And so here I am :) I absolutely love the Bluethumb art gallery and I am grateful to have this brilliant platform to participate in the showing of art.
At the moment you'll find me painting birds and nature with the acknowledgement that everything is sacred and of the light as seen in the background art in my profile photo. My art will always have the intention of gifting you much love and freedom through the work as I wish everyone to be the best version of who they are.
Thank you again for meeting me at in this space. I wish you love and kindness in your daily round.
