Rawiya Alshekhly, Melbourne and UAE based artist, I have been an artist for as long as I remember, My multidisciplinary practice includes drawing and painting I like to blend my artistic imagination with vibrant colours inspired by my background, folklore and my childhood memories in Iraq.
I have loved painting ever since I was young, However I stopped painting when I got married and soon later became a single mum of 3 Kids.
After coming to Australia as an Immigrant, I decided to use this opportunity to work on myself and start doing the things I enjoy the most (painting)
I started painting and teaching myself through observing other painters work and watching lots of online videos.
