Brushwork is evident and its tonality is a result of many years painting. Simplicity is not easily attained. Ray's dedication to keeping it simple and deft use of colour and light exquisitely captures the simple arrangements of our everyday lives.

Ray enjoys tonal impressionist oil painting, the study of light, in the tradition of early Australian artists (Meldrum et al). He challenges himself to keeping it simple and painterly.
Ray is a fellow and signatory member of the Victorian Artists Society and his works appear in collections in Victoria, interstate and internationally. He has also won numerous awards.
