A Still Life oil painting on linen framed in white with a white Matt under glass of lemons reflected in brassware and silver against a grey cloth backdrop. Tonal realism is the broad description of an impressionist style. The artwork would provide a point of focus for a lounge/dining area or kitchen.
Ray enjoys tonal impressionist oil painting, the study of light, in the tradition of early Australian artists (Meldrum et al). He challenges himself to keeping it simple and painterly. Ray is a fellow and signatory member of the Victorian Artists Society and his works appear in collections in Victoria, interstate and internationally. He has also won numerous awards.
