Anyone who has walked a bush track and had their senses tingled by the atmosphere of the sun rising in the morning or trekked the mountain ranges in the glow of the evening light will understand the path of the Plein Air Painter.
Raymond has been producing his unique Australiana paintings for a number of years. He was invited to work in America and spent some time in Tuscany, bringing a new dimension to this art. A special connection and understanding of the land and surroundings are expressed, letting you feel as well as see the painting.
As a Plein Air Artist, Raymond paints on location, producing works true to the colour of the surroundings – the blue/grey of the gum leaf and the bright, cheery yellow of the Sunflower. Raymond has works in collections in Europe, Canada, the USA, Japan, the UK, Ireland, Italy, and Australia.
A prolific artist Raymond holds many solo exhibitions at a variety of places, including Bright, Melbourne, and Mitchelton Winery, and has also been featured in Australian Artist, the Weekly Times , on the ABC Landline programme, as well as the local papers.
When not travelling, Raymond can be found working in his studio/gallery in Kialla West and enjoys the opportunity to share his experiences with visitors.
