With a lifetime of watching waves break, Raymond applies his design methods to his creative process, rendering oceanscapes as aesthetic abstractions. His works convey stylized interpretations of elemental forces that evoke fantasy, tranquility and emotive atmospheres.
Inspired by the natural beauty and sublimity of the Sunshine Coast region, Raymond creates minimal yet dynamic compositions of colors and textures; a single wave peeling through the environment, dramatically separating ocean and sky. With no visible horizon line, the viewer is positioned at water level with their focus being drawn to the dynamic energy of the wave form created by wind, swell and ocean floor contour.
