Artwork Description

This piece evokes memories of a hot summers day, playing on a slip and slide. Using dishwashing liquid to make you go faster, inevitably losing skin when you slide onto the lawn full of prickles.

"Backyard Slip & Slide" can be hung without a frame as all sides are painted. However, a wood frame would enhance the overall look.

Artist Bio

I am a self-taught artist but I am no stranger to the arts. Born into a family of creative women that did painting and pottery I spent countless hours of my childhood playing and experimenting in the family’s studios. While the passion for art has always been there it has laid dormant for years while life took me in different direction. Lucky for me, the stars have aligned and I’m returning to my first love.

I am an intuitive, abstract painter driven by a love of vibrant colours and an aversion to muted tones. Using high quality acrylic paint on canvas I create depth by layering, texture and letting drips take their own unchartered direction. My goal is to create pieces that capture your attention when entering a room, so you stop to take a closer look. When you do look closely you will see that there is something going on under the surface which I hope arouses the viewers curiosity.

I seal all my work with varnish that help protect painting from UV damage. All paintings are signed on either front or back and come ready to hang. The sides are always painted so framing is optional.
