This piece is the first in a new style for me, mixed media. I am moving away from my previous more rigid style by letting colour inspire and lead me in new ways. I have a rough outline before starting the work but trust the medium to flow and come together as I create. I have used cut outs from vintage time and photography magazines to add texture in the collage.
This painting speaks to the new age of social media and the image that people choose to put forward in their lives, or the image that people are expected to have. When reality, the other side of the camera tells a different story.
