Painting abstracts and women.
I trained in printmaking and drawing. Printmaking has had a huge impact on my art, resulting in my focus on layering and process. My practice is in printmaking, painting, drawing and photography. Currently, I make small acrylic paintings. I use colours I love and my experiences fuel my ideas. I layer paint on the canvas, painting dark colours first, working to light, bright tones. These works bring passion, energy and life to any room.
My current work is about femininity. In this series, I am creating two streams. The first stream is of female faces and iconography, which is about feminine ideals and archetypes. This work is pop inspired and brings a fun and graphic style.
The second stream of work, is a series of abstract artworks, these paintings are about the physical and psychological experience of being in the world. This series uses colour and texture to capture personal histories, mishaps and memories. My current work is intimate in size and scale. It contemplates passion, energy and physicality.
