I am a Melbourne based interdisciplinary artist interested in the idea of happiness, our constant pursuit of it and its uniquely ephemeral nature. My practice encompasses a variety of media including painting, photography, video, sculpture and installation.
Engaging with the creative process and the digital cultural experience my work is often personal, shifting and changing based on life experiences. I source and collect a wide range of imagery, symbols of beauty and femininity – motifs that tap into connection and emotion.
Recently I have been making paintings and objects with multiple narratives, combining various styles, both figurative and abstract. Paintings are filled with bold gestural brushstrokes and saturated colours giving the false impression of childlike simplicity. References are made to personal and historical myths, with narratives stemming from identity, popular culture and gender.
