Colour constantly captures my attention and sets my imagination on fire. It’s the aspect of my work that truly drives me - I’m always seeking new ways to use colour to bring my subjects to life.
My extensive travels throughout Australia add another dimension to my work. Having lived in over 30 different locations in Australia alone, I’ve been lucky to experience many vivid and varied landscapes. From turquoise oceans, to dusty red earth, to lush tropical rainforests dripping in greens of every shade. I’ve seen stunning sunsets over Mindil Beach in the NT, and glittering early morning frosts in Orange, NSW. And so much in between.
All of my travels inspire my work. I strive to make compelling connections between people and nature through vibrant use of colour, with birds often a favourite subject matter.
I predominantly work in Acrylics, Watercolours, Ink and Oil paints. I’m ever grateful to those artists who have taught me along the way, including my beautiful Grandmother who was also a self taught creative.
Teaching has added another level of joy to my work as I’m able to share all that excites me about creating with my students. I’ve been lucky to teach both children and adults and thoroughly enjoy empowering others to express themselves through art.
