I’ve always wanted to paint Ned Kelly, some see him as a hero/Icon and others see him differently, but behind all the heavy weighted armour, who was he? In this painting I only wanted to paint his helmet, the helmet is painted to exact scale. This to me is the most recognisable portrait of Ned, no need for his face or body. Some will see the darkness and others will see the light.
