A celebration of Man at his most rotund. B'ig Boi #6 was inspired by an amazing Japanese sculpture. To the artist, this painting is a representation of the beauty behind 'hanging in there'. Feeling the weight of your body when your foundations have seemingly come out from underneath you but remaining level headed as you wait for the clouds to pass. Behind the haze of melancholy, the sky is always blue and 'this to shall pass' rings true.
With a hard acrylic background, this bountiful beauty was created using softer more malleable water colour pencil paints. My style is to use brush manipulation to 'gently force' pigment across the canvas, creating tonal differences and textured highlights. B'ig Boi #6 has been accented using papier-mâché and outlined in black marker, making this piece multi-medium.
