Artwork Description

A modern cowboy caught somewhere between the rush and the ritual. ‘Ride Fast, Sip Slow’ draws on the spirit of long afternoons, dusty roads and slow pours shared as the sun drops behind the cane fields. Built through layered acrylic and oil, the surface carries a worn, weathered energy — like a favourite hat, a well-aged barrel, or stories retold over another round.

Artist Bio

Bec Talbot is an emerging artist living on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. Born and raised in Western Sydney, she moved to the Gold Coast in search of a more relaxed lifestyle for her young family. Originally trained as a primary school teacher, Bec began painting full time later in life. A cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment resulted in her leaving the classroom, with more time available to focus on her passion for art. She quickly learned that painting was beneficial to her health, with a positive effect on relaxation and mindfulness. Like it does for so many, art became a form of therapy. Bec paints intuitively and enjoys the freedom of abstract art. She draws colour inspiration from the beautiful coastal and hinterland landscapes around her. Her affinity for acrylics and various mediums is shown through the distinctive textures and intricate details that characterise her pieces. Bec's works combine the ethereal qualities of textural organic elements with the bold strokes of contemporary abstraction.
