This painting is a playful experiment with silhouettes and overlaid pattern. An initial base layer was built up with acrylic paint and a catalyst wedge followed by spray painted stencil work. The two flamingos were then added and the background covered with white. Some of the stencil designs were then reapplied with acrylic paint to make them pop a little more. I am a bird lover at heart and I'm inspired by the beauty of flamingos.
