This artwork is the second in my ‘Rainbows End’ series and again represents my interest in shape, pattern and the use of vibrant hues in the production of artwork. The base layer has been built up with the use of a catalyst wedge followed by more deliberate brush work to define the mountain like shapes. Opaque layers of paint have been applied over some of the shapes to increase interest and draw the viewers eye. Finally, stencilling has been added, further enhancing aesthetic appeal in the work. Some new elements have been added in this artwork different to that of the first in the series. This time I have included some lace stencil work with spray paint to add some subtle detail and I have also included a stencil of a bird quite subtly in the top right corner. I have titled this series of artwork ‘Rainbows End’ because these paintings represent to me a vision of a mountainous scene at the end of a rainbow.
