This painting 'The Succulent Seller' was inspired by William Adolphe Bouguereau, a famous classical artist from the 1890s. I used my own houseplants as a reference, except for the String of Pearls, as mine isn't as long as the one in the painting. As my houseplants are right behind my easel it felt great to be working from life for some of this work. This is the first painting from my classical houseplant series.
Painting took around a year to create.

Artist Bio
Besides painting in my studio I also paint outside at weddings and charity events where I paint the scene in front of me for the bride/groom/recipient. My paintings can be found overseas in countries such as Chile, Canada, US and the UK. I think what I enjoy most about my art is I paint what I want. I've been experimenting with styles for years and really enjoy having a diverse collection of work.
Paintings are packaged in tissue paper, bubble wrap, recycled cardboard boxes and brown paper.
