Sydney-based Artist Reena Naidu was born in Fiji and of Indian heritage. Completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts at the National Art School, Reena has since participated in a variety of artistic projects and group showings across Sydney.
Inspired by the natural world, its place, culture, and history Reena's works often depict landscapes which express mood and explore the ideas of time, place and movement. Her subjects include landscapes, seascapes, portraits and more. Using watercolour and ink Reena's focus has been on the sea for much of her work. And her current and most recent works are intricate, intuitive and process driven drawings using archival ink on linen.
Reena has Exhibited in several group exhibitions including the 2015 Robin Gibson Gallery New Talent Exhibition and was a finalist in the 2016 Clyde and Co Art Awards, 2017 9x5 landscape Prize, 2018 Paul Guest Prize and John Villiers Out Back Prize in 2020. Her latest exhibition was part of Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Prize (JADA) in 2024.
