Artwork Description

This painting is of a garden scene of a lemon tree at sunset. The painting depicts a lemon tree with green leaves, some which have an abstract quality to them. The lemon tree has some lemons at the top of the tree, which are painted with thick, impressionistic brush strokes. The colours are warm, akin to a sunset or an autumn afternoon. The painting continues to explore abstraction within realism, an often running theme in my work.

Artwork dimensions: 25 (w) x 33 (h) cms.
Paper dimensions: A3 - 29.7 (w) x 42 (h) cms.

This is an oil painting on linen textured oil paper. It is signed on the front beneath the painting. It will require framing prior to hanging at your choice of framer or through Bluethumb. It would look ideal with a mat board and your choice of frame.

Artist Bio

Reeva is an emerging artist living and working in the Greater Melbourne region. Her work incorporates early childhood interests in photography and graphic design with her love for the painted medium. Complex and contradictory, her work explores the dynamic interplay between realism and abstraction in a harmonious composition. Although inherently juxtaposed forms of traditional painting styles, she aims to create a sense of balance between them. Reeva has won the AGES society art prize 2024/25, and won highly commended award in the Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award 2024. Reeva has also been a finalist in the Kennedy Prize 2025, Lethbridge 20000 Small Scale Art Award 2025 & 2023, Bluethumb Art Prize 2023, and Agendo Art Prize 2021, in addition to other smaller and local art awards. Reeva has had two exhibitions in 2023, exhibiting a solo exhibition at The Art's Lounge, Wyreena, as well as having her work exhibited through Gallery NWC at the Affordable Art Fair across Australia in 2025, 2024, and 2023.
