Artwork Description

"Magnolia Study".

This painting is an oil painting on a 6x6 inch museum series Ampersand Gessbord panel. It is an alla prima still life painting of some home grown magnolias. Living in the hills, these flowers often spring up right before spring arrives, and are a welcome sign after some very cold winters. Their stunning pink and white tones offer a pop of colour, lasting mere days, before they are often blown away by the local mountain breeze.

This painting comes unframed. It is a 3mm panel so may fit in may standard 6x6 inch frames, with any backing boards removed. Alternatively, arrange to have your work framed through Bluethumb. This work comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.

Artist Bio

Reeva is an emerging artist living and working in the Greater Melbourne region. Her work incorporates early childhood interests in photography and graphic design with her love for the painted medium. Complex and contradictory, her work explores the dynamic interplay between realism and abstraction in a harmonious composition. Although inherently juxtaposed forms of traditional painting styles, she aims to create a sense of balance between them. Reeva has won the AGES society art prize 2024/25, and won highly commended award in the Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award 2024. Reeva has also been a finalist in the Kennedy Prize 2025, Lethbridge 20000 Small Scale Art Award 2025 & 2023, Bluethumb Art Prize 2023, and Agendo Art Prize 2021, in addition to other smaller and local art awards. Reeva has had two exhibitions in 2023, exhibiting a solo exhibition at The Art's Lounge, Wyreena, as well as having her work exhibited through Gallery NWC at the Affordable Art Fair across Australia in 2025, 2024, and 2023.
