Artwork Description

A shift in landscape, a shift in perspective. Tree Change marks a moment of transition—one of the first paintings completed in a new studio, in a new home, surrounded by a very different rhythm of life.

Moving from Melbourne to Hurstbridge wasn’t just about a change of scenery; it was about recalibrating, adapting, and embracing the unknown. This work captures that journey—the tension between movement and stillness, the pull of the past and the call of something new. Layers of colour and form reflect both the chaos and excitement of upheaval, the beauty in disorientation, and the eventual settling into something that finally feels like home.

At its core, Tree Change is about transformation—not just of place, but of self. Because sometimes, to find where you belong, you have to let go of where you've been.
