Artwork Description

Banksia and Wattle No 1 by Rob Rek is composed in the artist's signature loose style. Using a wide variety of mediums and extra-large brushes painted on gallery quality stretched canvas.

Liquified paint trails emulate raindrops and create a sense of movement in the artwork. Using a wide variety of other medias including iridescent acrylic paint markers, graphite pencil and willow charcoal, the artist layers contrasting textures to create this extra large-scale painting.

predominately created with soothing green tones, the artwork is dappled with the vibrant yellow of the iconic native wattle flowers we enjoy in spring. REK explores the Sculptural nature of these favorite flowers, along with banksia pods, and contrasting silver-grey gum leaves.
