Artwork Description

REK continues his series of male models in the style his work has become synonymous with. The partially deconstructed male figure's face is accented by points of highly realistic detail which progressively become looser in an acrylic wash - working graphite pencil marks are deliberately left visible leaving an unfinished feeling to the work.

The graffiti markings which first appeared in the artists well known Avian and abstract botanical works, have become a language now throughout many of the genre's REK approaches.

In Fractured Beauty the Lattice or cage like design merges with the figure and fades away completely in the top corner of the piece. Characteristic drips and light washes appear evoking a somber tone. His eyes are typically well resolved also portraying a melancholic, distant feeling.

** this artwork is framed in a custom made matt black frame and oversized white matting with glass.
