Art & creativity have always been such an essential part of my life although painting consistently and with purpose for me really started in 2024. I felt an overwhelmingly pull to start painting again with the challenges of a busy and sometimes chaotic life, art has helped my find balance and harmony. I paint most days with no plans to slow down anytime soon.
My love for art started with my mother, an amazing inspiration with some of my earliest memories watching and creating with her in her studio. I grew up in North Qld and resided in several small towns both in the country and near the water and my work is heavily influenced by this, I now live in the Brisbane region with a loving husband and two amazing kids.
My work is a range of fluid, portrait & abstract work predominantly in Acrylic, many of my pieces are mixed media with texture and sculptural elements. I am engrossed in the whole process from the thrill of trying new products & paints, experimenting, the captivating flow of paint, the feeling of getting lost in your work & so much more. I love colour, particularly the colours of the sea & nature, however, could not possibly limit my subject matter and explore whatever inspires or captivates me at the time. The predominant flow through my work particularly is the use of harmonious colours and organic shapes. Particularly my abstract and portraits have an ethereal quality through the use of colour, transparent layers and combining realism with abstraction. I create what I love and hopefully that connects with others too!
