Artwork Description

The original work is a large oil on linen and is offered here as limited edition print. the print is approved personally, signed, numbered and named by the artist.

This work encompasses all the significant symbols I use in the other series of work I do.

I like to portray evocative, surreal and dreamlike scenes that explore aspects of the human experience as they relate to nature, identity, redemption, reflection and intelligent design.

This particular work is the unifying piece that brings all the the other existential themes I'm exploring together under the simple motif of holistic innocence, purity, and self sacrifice.

Much of this work is based on systematic theology and ideas around hierarchies of dominance in western culture, albeit in a sea of relativistic postmodernism.

Artist Bio

Renata Waterfall is a graduate of Sydney College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Visual Arts, was a twice finalist in the Mosman Art Prize .
Renata is a masterful painter that portrays evocative, surreal and dreamlike scenes, that explore aspects of the human experience as it relates to nature, identity, redemption, and intelligent design. 'I enjoy using a symbolic narrative to invite meaning, and to ask questions about how we view the world and ourselves in conjunction with it. I endeavour to engage with the viewer using poeticism through a distilled semiotic lens, in order to create a meditative moment in time, through the observance of the symbolic imagery'.
Renata has had group and solo shows over a career spanning decades, and her work is in private collections, both here in Australia and over seas.
She is open to commissions based on the expressed themes of her practice.
