Artwork Description

From the Origins series, this work alludes to a romanticised, yet displaced heritage reconciling itself with notions of the otherness.
Pensive and reflective, the figure represents the unlived history and traditions of the past amid an alien landscape and new frame of reference.
The landscape is of Cradle Mountain in Tasmania.
Signed, named and numbered by the artist.

Artist Bio

Renata Waterfall is a graduate of Sydney College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Visual Arts, was a twice finalist in the Mosman Art Prize .
Renata is a masterful painter that portrays evocative, surreal and dreamlike scenes, that explore aspects of the human experience as it relates to nature, identity, redemption, and intelligent design. 'I enjoy using a symbolic narrative to invite meaning, and to ask questions about how we view the world and ourselves in conjunction with it. I endeavour to engage with the viewer using poeticism through a distilled semiotic lens, in order to create a meditative moment in time, through the observance of the symbolic imagery'.
Renata has had group and solo shows over a career spanning decades, and her work is in private collections, both here in Australia and over seas.
She is open to commissions based on the expressed themes of her practice.
