Artwork Description

Gulamons are used by Women , to carry what's collected out gathering and move it from one place to another in daily life .

I've used touches of white Ochre pigment through the outer dot work details that represent our Land or Country . The organic shape of the Gulamon is painted in colourful acrylics .

Gulamon is Gadigal Dharug word for what others may recognize as Coolamons .

They are curved rounded carved and carry everything from Country/ Land ,Water, Sky . Seeds nuts flowers pigments shells ,Medicine Food , Rainwater , Fire embers.

Artist Bio

Renee is a proud Cadi Gadigal Woman Born in the mid '70's on Country, inner City Sydney .

Having Painted for years privately as a part of her own healing and wellbeing , Renee has focused on her Art practice fulltime as an emerging Artist since 2021/22.

Her style as a Contemporary Aboriginal Artist is one reflecting her Saltwater connection, love of Country .and Nature. She also explores Abstract Landscape through Curves and Markmaking. Line Dot Hands.

Renee is a registered Member of the Indigenous Art Code , Australia .
