The Curated Puppet Master

Inspired by Paloma Faith's album cover for "A Perfect Contradiction" this illustration depicts a version of Paloma dressed up in full costume, playing the puppet master with her stripped-back, natural self. Many of us present ourselves to the world in a styled, manicured form, taking from our person elements that we most want to be recognised for and putting them centre stage.

Having spent more than a decade bringing other artists dreams into reality through work as a technician in theatre, film, television and events, Renee is taking the time to come back to her own artistry and learn what that means to her. Self-taught and a self-confessed "dabbler" Renee likes to experiment in various mediums and enjoys learning new techniques and skills. Whether she hasn't yet found that perfect medium match, or she simply doesn't like being boxed-in, Renee will continue to delve into new styles and forms as she makes her way back to art.
