I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep. I took solace in going for a walk over the hills near my home. It was a moonlit cold winter night, the cloudy sky scattered the moonlight and created the illusion that the swirling sky attracting the awakened ones to the radiant source of light.
This painting, in alla prima tonal impressionism style, is one of the series that I painted under the influence of that night's experience.
