World of beauteous verisimilitude. We need to find the inner meaning of even a straight line. So it is with the paintings of Ria Rushin Joseph, who glees in images of convincing simplicity, freely available in their striking realism, yet an abstract nature that gives a positivity, and then a lot of after thought. In the superfluity of visual images of this life, Ria's paintings attract through their extraordinary abstractness accompanied with reality - so real that they seem to reach beyond reality and, through their heightened perception, create a world of their own.
